The Wanderous Tribe x Narendra Bhawan Bikaner

Opulence at its best, exemplary hospitality and stimulating ambience is what defines my experience at Narendra Bhawan,Bikaner ! This hotel was the residence of the last Maharaja of Bikaner – Narendra Singh ji,and has now been tastefully converted into a boutique hotel. This property is truly an ode to Narendra Singh ji’s life. The decor and interiors of this hotel is what keeps its guests intrigued and interested throughout their stay.

The hotel looks like any other heritage property from the outside with its red sandstone exteriors. But,I encountered a quirky wonderland of colors, textures, memories as I entered the hotel lobby. The hotel lobby features photographs of the royal family, oriental artefacts, curios  of Bombay art deco scene, vivid collections of books and an antique bright red baby piano, named Edith. The decor is a lovely medley of different cultures, travels and experiences. One gets greeted with the classic Gin & Tonic upon arrival at the drawing room.

There are multiple social areas to chill, talk and relax.Rich & flambuoyant, the smoking room is decorated with plus furniture and interesting curios. If you fancy going back in time,do browse through their collection of vintage playboy magazines. This place takes us back to the British era, where it was a common practice to decorate the smoking rooms in a masculine style.

On a pleasant morning, one can enjoy a wholesome breakfast at the beautiful outdoor space called The Gaushala.

Every floor is adorned with the play of shadow and light created by the red standstone lattice screens overlooking the courtyard, named the Diwali Chowk.

The rooms and suites at Narendra Bhawan are inspired by the different facets of the royal life. While Prince Rooms reflect the influence of the west, the Regimental rooms pay homage to the colonial military life. All the rooms are beautifully furnished with rich fabrics, mirrors and upscale furniture. The bathroom features a granite counter top decorated with brass mirrors.

I was in awe of the decor and ambience I witnessed at Narendra Bhawan and kept on reminiscing the experience for weeks. But,I have to say that my experience at Narendra Bhawan became extremely pleasing because of the warm hospitality catered by each and every staff member. One really doesn’t get to experience so much comfort and warmth at a hotel very often!

Staycation at Westin Sohna Resort & Spa

A few weeks back,I decided to pamper myself and my girlfriends with a relaxing staycation at The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa.The best part about choosing this resort was its proximity to Delhi. It was just 1.5 hours away from South Delhi and we easily drove to Westin Sohna ourselves. I just had a lazy staycation in mind initially, but I was awestruck when I discovered the number of things I could experience during the course of their stay. Also, the massive green cover makes the property one big green oasis honestly.

The resort is spread across 45 acres of land and has different categories of accomondation to offer including the Premier Room,1 Bedroom Villa,Luxury Villa,Royal Villa and Presidential Suite. We booked a 2 Bedroom  Royal Villa and were delighted to see all that it had to offer including a private pool and Alexa with automation of music, television, lights, fans etc at your voice command. The rooms were equipped with Westin’s signature Heavenly Bed and the washrooms had the signature White Tea toileteries. Every morning,we used to treat ourselves to a lavish floating breakfast in our pool. you guys should definitely try the floating breakfast and thank me later. The patio next to the pool was a great space to unwind, relax, chat or read a book.

We enjoyed a beautiful sunset by the private lake at Westin Sohna.Every evening,we enjoyed  drinks and light bites at Mix Bar & Lounge. We  enjoyed fabulous meals at Xiao Chi ( A glass encased Chinese restaurant ) and The Living Room ( World-class cuisines and locally sourced ingredients curated by the chef ). From the courteous staff to the meticulous service offered by the property,my stay at Westin Sohna Resort & Spa was nothing short of exceptional.

Riad Olema Et Spa in Marrakech,Reviewed

A few minutes navigating the narrow alleyways of the Marrakech Medina are enough to make you realize you have entered a different world. The streets and curves of the Medina quarter are buzzing with tourists, merchants, touts, mopeds, cars, and donkeys. It is a labyrinth where one tries to dodge motorbikes and watch out for pick-pocketeers from bumping into you. It’s this overwhelming experience and chaos that makes the Riad’s a perfect place to escape the madness and relax.

Marrakech’s Medina has almost 1000 Riads ranging from budget category to some uber-luxurious ones if your budget can handle it. I discovered Riad Olema Et Spa through and the pictures lured me into booking it for my stay in Marrakech. This Riad is located very close to the Medina and is a calm oasis among the bustling city, and the perfect place to use as a home base while exploring the souks and shops.

As with most riads, it’s hidden away down a small alleyway, so you can’t get to the door by car. Finding your way to the riad can be a bit confusing but locals are usually willing to help out in exchange for a small tip,but some can get extremely pushy. I somehow managed to locate my riad with the help of a random kid. Upon arrival,I was welcomed with the traditional Moroccan Mint tea along with some local sweets and cookies.

After the check-in formalities,I was led to my room. The rooms vary in size and price, and I opted for a mid-range Orientale Superior room. With a Moroccan-style bedhead, this room provided lavish views of the patio. The rooms are quite huge, and tend to be long and since they are built around a courtyard as a part of the traditional riad. Each room is decorated Moroccan details, but the best part of this Riad is it’s rooftop. Large and spacious,it is separated off into different seating areas, some covered and some with sunbeds to make the most of the sun. I loved watching the 360 degree view of the city and admiring the Atlast mountains off in the distance.

The courtyard is quite spacious and has comfortable nooks to lounge at ease, drink tea, devour extremely delicious fruits, read books or just admire the traditional decor. The place is also equipped with a small library lounge with a small fire place. One can also take a dip in the very inviting plunge pool after a crazy day in the city.

The room rate includes a very filling breakfast that includes the traditional Moroccan pancake called Msemen, honey, cheese, local jams accompanied with freshly squeezed orange juice or coffee. I couldn’t try the lunch or dinner because I am a Vegetarian and just like other restaurants, the kitchen had very slim options. The staff used to serve us a generous portion of fruits around 4 PM everyday. The service is amazing and the staff is extremely kind, helpful and warm. They deal with their with a pleasant smile.

The beautiful luminosity of this riad and its quaint spirit is definitely soothing. Each and every corner of this haven recalls the magnificence and opulence of a bygone era. Staying in a riad had always been on my bucket-list and always looked like a dream to me. I am glad that I made the right choice by booking Riad Olema Et Spa for my stay in Marrakech. Also, this is not a sponsored post. I am genuinely in love with this property and wanted to write about it!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Overnight Mask Review

I swear by The Body Shop‘s Tea Tree skincare range and the Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Overnight Mask is my latest obsession. I have been using the Tea Tree oil on and off since the past couple of years to control the sebum production and keep it under check. I never had acne as a teenager but my skin started breaking out in the past couple of months. I really did not know how to tackle it,and I didn’t want to take any medication for the same. I thought of going back to the Tea Tree range and found this overnight sleeping mask.

I have used sleeping masks in the past and they help in making our skin plump and supple. I did not expect this mask to actually help in calming down my skin. But to my surprise,I saw a huge difference in my skin the morning after. The inflammation had reduced and my skin looked much smoother & healthier. I started using it every alternate night and the breakouts eventually ceased to exist. I also got rid off the small bumps on my skin. Most of the anti-acne products tend to dry our skin, but this mask hydrates our skin while combating breakouts.

The consistency of this mask is quite like jelly and feels moist on the skin. It gets absorbed very easily into the skin and also acts as a nice antiseptic for people who are not suffering from acne but are looking at improving the texture of their skin. This is a holy grail product for people with oily and acne-prone skin. This product is prices at INR 1995 for 75 ml. This mask is actually worth the price because it definitely delivers. I am also using the Tea Tree oil in conjunction with this mask. You guys should definitely try out this product for a healthier looking skin!

Vajor’s Festive Edit Ft. The Wanderous Tribe x Jagat Collection

Vajor recently introduced its Festive Imprints collection inspired by the vivid facets of Rajasthan. This collection is more like an ode to the Sanganeri prints & the artisans who bring the art to life every single day. Brownie points to the brand for bringing the town of Sanganer and its art to limelight. Since this collection was inspired by my favorite state,no locale other than Jagat Niwas Palace,Udaipur could have justified its essence in entirety for my collaboration with Vajor.

I loved how the brand fused traditional aesthetics with contemporary silhouettes. I chose two gorgeous outfits for The Wanderous Tribe’s collaboration with Vajor. The Muted Mauve Tiered Dress & the Olive Gold Kaftan caught my attention. Both of them fit me perfectly & the dreamy silhouettes had a bohemian luxe appeal to them. Scroll down to see the photos that made the cut!

The only way I feel put together in summer is by slipping into a dress. There is absolutely no need to dig through your wardrobe trying to coordinate pieces of clothing, because a dress is an outfit in itself! Moreover, breathable & lightweight dresses cannot miss from any closet during the summer.

The color combination of this hand block-printed cotton dress from LYLA caught my eye. I love the mustard hue paired with the eye-catching print. This dress is playful & bright, plus it makes me feel so comfortable. I really appreciate its quilted tassel belt to be tied around the waist. I would have to say that this is probably one of my favorites this summer & I see why it is almost sold-out online. The fabric, the vibrant color palette, the perfect summery silhouette – everything about this dress really appeals to me.
